I had the opportunity to design for the easiest client - myself and my now hubby. From scanning in the photos from a few photo strips that survived Rock the Garden, to wheeling and dealing with Paper Depot for envelopes. From picking out the antique vases from various thrift stores, to designing the flower arrangements and colors at Market Flowers. From designing the tags that went around the palms that lined the aisle, to labels for the wedding party kraft giftboxes, my hand was in it all, and in marriage.

The wedding was held at Spill the Wine in their upstairs loft. It was great because I designed their logo (from literally countless dips of the wine bottle into wine and stamping it onto canvas napkins) as a labor of love. Now I was marrying the perfect hun, my favorite love. All aspects of the event were designed by me and for us. From the littlest things, to the big things.

Go ahead and click FULLSCREEN for a larger view. Keep on clicking once it's on screen to scan through the photos.

Sometimes you need to fuel the fire to stay on your toes, and I feel that working on the random personal projects keeps my design sense and wit akimbo and fresh.

They always evolve into something greater than the sum of their vectors and come to life when paired with the right graphic buddy.

The restaurant is an American Bistro with a warm inviting feel. The wine glasses do not match, but the quality of wines and diversity of regions they come from add class to their style but not arrogance.

The connotation of “Spill the Wine” was to illustrate that, it’s okay, not a faux pax to spill the wine, you’re with family. The wine stain was created with several layers of staining a canvas napkin with the bottom of a wine bottle.

The combination of creating a seal with the wine stain was to evoke a quality label to the relaxing air of a comfortable dining experience.

While I did not design their website, the screenshot here is to illustrate how the logo was put to use. While helping Spill the Wine invent their brand I assisted in the concepting of how the logo would be put to use, ie. the wine stain on the napkin, the warm wood tones, etc.

Ecopia bags were being developed as a concept to be presented to Target. These bags were to be made from a process that uses tapioca roots, making them biodegradable within 12 months. The designs were to be clean, and demonstrate each of 4 occasions. These are: Birthday, Wedding, Baby, and Every Day. There were 3 design lines created.

The Rebel Yell Guitar was designed as a Best Buy exclusive product for Guitar Hero. Graphics were inspired by old-school punk rock album covers, KDFM woodblock print inspired posters, and teenage angst geared to a broader market.

The design was catered to a youthful boyish crowd while also speaking to an adult demographic with respect to an 80’s aesthetic.
